Today I'm happy to announce the new incarnation of the presellpageman site... most of the new requirements are in, but let's call this a 2.0 (beta) :-)

A short list of new features and improvements for you:

Content hosting search improved

obviously the most important function got the most attention - and will do so in the future (see below)

• NEW: more keywords and descriptions from various meta-data sources about the site are included into the search index... this improves search results even more
• NEW: a set of extracted keywords is displayed with every site now to support in judging about the site's topics
• NEW: site themes are cross-linking now, so by clicking the theme of one site you can easily find all other related themed sites
• bugfix: many searches didn't include theme which means that "insurance" onlys brought 14 sites, while we have 47 actually :) same for other important topics - just try a search

New user features

• NEW: private messaging on site ... send and receive messages via PM as you do with any other forum
• NEW: content voting (beta) introduced
  ... your feedback is appreciated for all the explaining content, FAQ, newsletters etc
  => this allows to suggest supporting content in the future
• NEW: polls introduced - how many conferences do YOU visit per year?
• NEW: some AJAX usability features
• example: you can resize the text boxes on the site - test this e.g. on the feedback form
• also some user profile fields are collapsed to avoid clutter and enhance your user experience

New features in backend and site data

these features support the inventory database and search functions

• NEW: DMOZ directory entry count
• NEW: Yahoo directory entry count
• NEW: Yahoo! backlink counts for .edu, .edu homepage, .gov, .mil
• background info: the previous backlink display was showing UNIQUE domains of .com/.edu/.gov pointing to marketing content host - while this data took longer to retriebe from the search engines, many people mixed it up with the number of links that point to the domain, which are way higher numbers usually and by the way are so much easier to get...

just query yahoo for linkdomain: site:.edu and you have a number in seconds...

• NEW: yahoo indexed pages count
• BUGFIX: whois dates improved a lot, most country specific (.de,.at,) and important 2nd tier domains
  like .net,.org,.biz have correct years now (nice non-standard returning whois-servers made this bit more work
  - UPD: all sites have Alexa ranges now
  - UPD: of course all sites have the recent page rank values now from last week's update

And finally the internal migration to the recent drupal version is finished :-)
